Biography

Anna Monney Hammond is a Principal Technologist specializing in Water Quality and Environmental Remediation. She is an affiliate of the Sanitation and Environmental Management Division of the CSIR-Institute of Industrial Research in Ghana. Anna holds a Master of Philosophy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. Beyond her research work, Anna is an advocate for women in science and holds memberships in organizations such as the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), an affiliate of the COACh-University of Oregon network, and Chemists Without Borders. She served as a judge for the 2023 SustainFood Zero Hunger Student Idea Competition, aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 2.

Projects:

  1. RECIRCULATE: Driving eco-innovation in Africa: Capacity-building for a safe circular water economy, which was awarded a budget of (Budget: €756,000).
  2. NORAD funded project “Chicken, Fish, and Pig Feed and Organic Fertiliser Value Chain Development”, using BSF-based urban bio-waste in DRC, Ghana, Mali, and Niger, (Budget- $7.5 million).
